Birds of Prey / Headline SurferEDGEWATER, Fla. -- This hawk intrigued me because I thought it was a Peregrine Falcon when I first spotted it sitting on a telephone line.

After taking some pictures and researching this bird on Wikipedia, I realized it was a hawk.

Hawks are similar, but the noticeable difference would be from what is behind the bird.

As I walked around this large bird of prey, I noticed his tail feathers were longer than the wings. Peregrine falcons have sleeker wings and tails which allow them to be the fastest flying birds.

We are privileged to the wildlife and birds we see because of our location. Living this close to the Canaveral National Seashore, which is a wildlife sanctuary, allows us to spot many unusual and interesting looking birds.
