
HOLLY HILL -- A 23-year-old Holly Hill man was killed over the weekend when he smashed into the back of a car while speeding north on U.S. 1, Holly Hill police said.
Manuel A. Mosquera Alfonzo, 23, was riding his Yamaha at a high rate of speed at 1 a.m. Saturday, just north of 15th Street about 1 a.m. when he rear-ended a Dodge Neon.
The biker, who lived a couple of blocks from the crash site, died three hours later at at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach.
The driver of the Neon, Krista Upson of Ormond Beach, was traveling 35 or 40 mph, within the posted speed and was unhurt in the crash, police said.
