It's a good idea to stay indoors during smoky conditions caused by brush fires

The smell of smoke from local brush fires permeated the night air and is expected to be worse this morning, especially near Interstate 95, due to a 10-acre blaze on Maytown Road. There was an earlier fire Monday on Turnbull Bay Road. Conditions are dry and ripe for fire. Thankfully, the fires were dealt with. But the smell of smoke lingers and for people like me, who have respiratory problems, it can be tough to breathe outdoors.

That's why I alway have my inhaler with me. It's so easy for my chest to tighten up, even after one breath when it is smokey outside. Typically, I'll make a quick transfer from the house to the car if I need to go anywhere. Otherwise. I stay indoors. That's a good idea for anyone with breathing issues.

Please remember your pets. Even they can have breathing problems when the smell of smoke permeates the air.
