Kosmas to host 'tele-town hall' on the health-care legislation she helped secure

(Washington, DC) - Fresh off her vote in favor of President Obama's nationalized health-care plan, first-term Congresswoman Suzanne Kosmas, D-New Smyrna (FL-24), will hold a telephone town hall from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday  to discuss the issue.

"She will answer questions about the fiscally responsible health care reform legislation will discuss how the bill reduces the deficit, reins in costs, and improves health care coverage for Central Florida's families, seniors and small businesse," her spokesman, Marc Goldberg said.

Goldberg said Kosmas will also highlight the numerous benefits that take effect immediately, such as barring insurance companies from cancelling coverage if you get sick, stopping discrimination against children who have preexisting conditions, providing small business tax credits, closing the Medicare prescription drug coverage doughnut hole, and allowing children to stay on their parents' coverage until age 26.

Once signed up, constituents will receive a call at 6 pm on Wednesday which will automatically connect them to the tele-town hall at no charge.

Constituents must call or sign up online by close of business tomorrow, Tuesday, March 23, to ensure they are included on the call. Only residents of Florida's 24th Congressional District are eligible to sign up for the tele-town hall.
