WASHINTON D.C. -- Suzanne Kosmas, D-New Smyrna Beach, is staying true to her commitment of being an independent voice for Florida's 24th Congressional District since her election in November over incumbent conservative Republican Tom Feeney.
The woman labeled as an ultra-liberal Democrat during the election campaign, who has great support among unions, was ranked in the most recent edition of the In National Journal's annual "Vote Ratings"
issue, as among the Top 10 "most moderate" members in the entire U.S. House of Representatives and
the most moderate member of the Florida Congressional Delegation.
National Journal's rating demonstrates that based on her voting record Kosmas "has stayed true to her commitment to be an independent voice in Washington and to work towards bipartisan, common-sense solutions to create jobs and improve Central Florida's economy," said her press secretary, Marc Goldberg.
Kosmas remarked, "Decisions in Washington are too often motivated by ideology, but I made
a commitment to be an independent voice, focused on the people and
priorities of our communities, and I work hard to live up to that
commitment every day."
"As a former small business owner, I understand the importance of taking a common-sense, businesslike approach to address the challenges facing Central Florida's communities," the New Smyrna Beach Realtor added.
