Man robbed at gunpoint by two others outside pawn shop

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A 26-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint last night by two men who came up from behind and knocked him to the ground, then put a gun to his head while taking personal belongings from his pockets, New Smyrna Beach police said.

Corey Alan Sarchiz was not injured in the robbery just after 10 p.m. outside Jessup's Pawn Shop, 121 N. Orange St., police said.

Sarchiz told police he was walking through the parking lot when he was attacked from behind and thrown to the ground.

"One of the suspects knelt on his back and put a gun to his head while the other suspect removed his personal items from his pockets," acting police Sgt. Michael Mathyas. "The suspects then fled on foot. A search for the suspects was conducted by K-9, however, it was met with negative results.

One of the robbers was described as black, 6 feet tall with a thin build and wearing dark clothing. The victim did not get a good look at the second attacker before they ran off.
