Mayor: 'Truly a blessed Easter Sunday celebration here in Oak Hill'

OAK HILL -- Easter in Oak Hill started with a sunrise service at Oak Hill's Sunrise Park overlooking the beautiful and majestic Mosquito Lagoon.

The morning wind was cool, but this did not deter the dozens and dozens of citizens from attending. Approximately 75 citizens listened to the inspirational message given by the pastors of The Bibleway Church of God & Christ, Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene and Oak Hill First Baptist Church.

At the end of the service the pastor of the Oak Hill First Baptist Church invited all to join him at the church for breakfast. On Easter Sunday, the city folks were appreciative of the sunshine, the message of Christ's ascension into Heaven and the togetherness felt among neighbors for each other.

All in all, it was a truly a blessed Easter Sunday celebration here in Oak Hill that made me feel very proud to be its mayor.
