BOSTON -- The Celtics defeated the Orlando Magic, 103-86, on Easter Sunday to take the opener in the first round of the NBA playoffs.
Derrick White led the Celtics with 30 points to go with 7 three-pointers and 4 rebounds, while Payton Pritchard contributed 19 points, 4 three-pointers, and 3 assists.
Paolo Banchero finished with a team-high 36 points along with 11 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 three-pointers for the Magic in the loss. Franz Wagner added 23 points for Orlando.
Orlando led by a point at halftime, but the Magic turned the ball over six times in the third quarter and were outscored 30-18 as the Celtics took a 78-65 lead into the fourth quarter. The Celtics never looked back after that. Orlando finished with 15 turnovers, and that led to 24 Boston points. “It's Game 1, there's nerves. Lit crowd. Really loud," Banchero said after the loss. “So, not a total surprise that we struggled a little bit on offense, honestly."

The Magic haven't made it out of the first round of the playoffs since the 2009-10 season.
The Celtics lead the best-of-7 series 1-0. Game 2 between the Magic and the Celtics is Wednesday night in Boston.
