The Donald seems to want to do everything himself and of all the issues he spoke about he never mentioned any actual plans or ways to pay for all his grandiose ideas. His lemmings, which is what his supporters seem to be to me, cheered and whistled but are not using their brains or asking him how he alone can stop ISIS. Sorry, he scares me and I cannot vote for him.
Then I watched Hillary try very hard to be personable as Chelsea told us all how she sends kiss and reads Chug-a-Chug Choo Choo on FaceTime to her grandchildren. She, as all politicians do, says all the right things and I admit she did spell out some of the plans and how to pay for them, but Bernie’s "everyone goes to college idea" doesn’t fly with me. We all know she did this for his supporters to bring them to her side, but no one has a clue how they will make college free for all.
Clinton did allude to letting those bogged down in college loan debt being able to refinance their loans. But that is not wiping out their burden, just lowering payments and extending the time they have to pay them off so they are burdened forever.
Hillary's speech left me wishing politicians actually did what they promise, but none of them do and she will be no different. She has been a politician for so long it is in her blood and she couldn’t be different if she wanted to be which she obviously doesn’t. I watched also because this is a truly historical moment when a woman has been nominated for president in my lifetime which I did not think I would ever see. If I live as long as my longest lived relative who died at 104 years of age, I’ll be one of those old folks interviewed about that momentous moment.

I am proud we have progressed enough to elect a black man as president and nominate a woman for the job as well. That’s progress of a kind but this particular black man, Barack Obama, is not well liked even though I think when we look back, we'll see he did the best he could , considering the gridlock among Washington politicians on both sides of the aisle.
If Hillary wins I hope she will move the country forward but don’t see how she can since we are so divided in what we feel and how we react to things. I can do no more to help than vote and I have no clue who to vote for. I watched the Libertarian guy on a news show and he seemed to make some sense, but until we start accepting a more than two-party system others will never make it to the presidency. Votes for them are like votes for the candidate you don’t want because it is one less for either party narrowing the field. So what is one to do in years like this when the choices are awful and even more awful. I don’t want to not vote but really have no clear way to go. Whatever you do, please do vote. It is important to at least have your vote counted than to moan and groan about who wins in November between Clinton and Trump and kicking yourself for not voting.
