No more Magic this season

Sera and I had bought into the notion of tt's not over until it's over. It's over! The Orlando Magic fell to the Boston Celtics, 96-84, in game 6 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.

No NBA team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit to win a conference finals, but the Magic seemed so promising with two straight wins over the suddenly vulnerable and aging Celtics, the the veran team bounced back convingly.

Dwight Howard had an up and down series and Vince Carter and Rashard Lewis never got untracked. Jameer Nelson was strong as was reserve J.J. Redick, but they weren't enough to overcome Boston's vaunted defense and the firepower of Paul Pierce and the guard play of Rajon Rondo and reserve Nate Robinson.

So Boston now waits the winner of Los Angeles-Phoenix out west, with the Lakers holding a 3-2 lead.

Boston has now knocked off the NBA's two winningest teams this season, LeBron James' Cleveland Cavaliers and now Dwight Howard's Orlando Magic.
