The man in this surveillance photo outside the Walgreens pharmacy on State Road 44 is wanted by New Smyrna Beach police in the purse snatching of a 77-year-old woman.
NEW SMYRNA BEACH --A man snatched the purse of a 77-year-old woman Monday afternoon in the parking lot of the Walgreens pharmacy on State Road 44 and ran off.
The victim, Jeanette Bishop, was not injured in the 1:52 p.m. incident outside the Walgreens, 1352 S.R. 44, police said.
The robber's image was recorded on Walgreens surveillance cameras outside the store.
The robber is described as a light complexion white man, 20 to 25 years old, between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 10, 150-200 pounds with brown hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt, tan shorts and a gray ball cap.

Here is a synopsis of what happened as reported by police Sgt. Michael Brouillette: "Mrs. Fox was walking in the Walgreen's southeast parking area, towards the store when the above white male suspect approached her. The male suspect grabbed Mrs. Fox's purse and ran westbound towards Paige Avenue. Mrs. Fox was not injured during the incident."
