
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Whether you’re trying to navigate the Internet or still looking for the computer’s on/off switch, the New Smyrna Beach Regional Library has beginner computer classes that can help you find your way, says Pat Kuehn, Volusia County spokeswoman.
Discover everything you always wanted to know about e-mail at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4. Participants will learn how to get a free e-mail address, compose e-mails, and add pictures and documents to their e-mails.
Internet Searching will start at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11. The instructor will explain the web browser Microsoft Internet Explorer and features such as favorites, homepage, font size and Internet options.
A Computer Basics class will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18. This class is for people with little or no computer experience who want to learn about the components of a computer and get acquainted with terminology. Participants will explore some of the functions and features of the Windows operating system.
Learn how to work with Microsoft Excel at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25. This class introduces basic concepts and terminology and explains elements of the Excel screen. Demonstrations will include entering data and working with cells, rows and columns.
