New Smyrna Beach police released surveillance photos earlier tonight of a man who held up the McDonald's on State Road 44 in New Smyrna Beach and suspect he's the same person arrested in Daytona. 
The robber in the 9:11 a.m. Burger King incident was apprehended a short time later after someone reported a tag number for his car, which police located on Magnolia Avenue and found him inside a dwelling.
Daytona Beach police charged Victor Stephens, 46, of New Smyrna Beach, with armed robbery in the daring robbery during the morning breakfast line at the Burger King. He placed an order and then jumped up on the counter wielding a steak knife, according to Daytona Beach police. The server tried to block him from getting into the cash drawer and was cut on the arm with the knife. The server was not seriously injured.
The modus operandi was the almost the same at 7:33 last night at the McDonald's on S.R. 44 in New Smyrna Beach, when a white man with a scruffy beard ordered food, but said he didn't have the money to pay for it, and when confronted by a manager, jumped over the counter while holding up a large knife and rifling through the cash drawer.
The New Smyrna Beach police suspect the robberies were committed by the same person, whose identity was captured on a surveillance video captured by the McDonald's and released to the media in the form of still photos by New Smyrna Beach police.
"Investigators are currently looking into similarities with this robbery and a recent robbery in Daytona Beach, which occurred earlier today," New Smyrna Beach police Sgt. spokesman Mike Brouillette said.
