Ormond Beach man struck and killed Sunday night after stepping onto U.S. 1 near Iron Horse Saloon

ORMOND BEACH - A 53-year-old Ormond Beach man walking from the Iron Horse Saloon parking lot was struck and killed Sunday night after walking in front of an oncoming pick-up truck he apparently did not see as he stepped onto U.S. 1, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Bruce Bolduc was pronounced dead at the scene of the 8:08 p.m. accident. The driver, William Groat, 58, of Grand Blanc, Mich., who was driving in the outside lane, was not charged.

Alcohol was not a factor for the driver, but troopers are awaiting results of an alcohol test done on the victim's body, which is standard procedure in pedestrian traffic fatalities such as this.
