Serafina King Frederick is the multimedia editor of the award-winning 24/7 internet newspaper and wife of its publisher, Henry Frederick. Today is her 44th birthday.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- I would like to take a moment here to let the Headline Surfer® readers in on a little secret.

That secret is Serafina King Frederick, who is Publisher Henry Frederick's wife and partner in making this online media source one to be reckoned with.

I’d bet you don’t know that Sera has made almost all of the videos on the site as well as worked with Henry on the graphics that make it as great as it is.

She has attended and recorded five-plus years worth of street festivals and parades in New Smyrna Beach, the Cudas home football games, graduations and fireworks plus many other events. Many thousands of still photographs are her work as well.

Henry once said to me that behind every good man is an even better woman and Sera proves that point.

Henry is a great reporter, but her support of his efforts makes the newspaper and his entire life better. Sera has made many sacrifices to help this online newspaper become a rousing success.

The ups and mostly downs of living in the politics and slander of New Smyrna against her and Henry distressed her very much. So much that now they now live in Sanford. I am ashamed of New Smyrna for treating citizens of their town and small business owners like the Fredericks as shabbily as they did. It hurts me that they hurt Sera and Henry. In the long run, though, all they've done is hurt themselves and the community with their pettiness.

College-educated Sera has also led the paper to be bilingual, which is a boon to many in this area and all over the world.

Yes, HeadlineSurfer.com is accessed by people all over the world as its multi-media news content is carried around the clock in the Google News Directories and search engines.

There is no one more sweet, polite and caring than our Sera and today is her 44th birthday.

I just felt you needed how important she is to Headline Surfer®, to Henry and those of us who have been onboard since day one and I wanted you to know what you lost when she left this area.

She remains working alongside Henry, as the multimedia editor, making our upstart internet newspaper better and better. And for this and what Sera does for Henry’s morale, I thank her.
