SANFORD, Fla. -- The following inspirational Thanksgiving message from Seminole County Commissioner Amy Linville Lockhart was initially emailed to constituents in greater Sanford. It reads as follows:
Dear Friends,
Even in the midst of all the uncertainty that 2020 has brought us, we have so much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving!
I am grateful to God for His many blessings, and thankful for our nation's heritage.
I am grateful for the legacy of faithful men and women like President George Washington who knew the only hope for success of our fledgling experiment in self-government would be to, "acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor..." setting aside a day for “public thanksgiving and prayer” devoted to “the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be.”

May this Thanksgiving be a time for all of us to reflect on all the "good that was, that is", and filled with hope for all the good "that will be."
Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving celebration!
