DELTONA -- A vehicle flipped and then collided into a house on East Normandy Boulevard in Deltona early Tuesday morning, leaving the driver, 48-year-old Joy Denise Terry of DeLand, in critical condition after being revived by paramedics, a Volusia County Sheriff's spokesman said.
None of the five occupants inside the house was injured in the crash, agency spokesman Gary Davidson said.
The single-vehicle accident occurred at about 2:29 a.m. when Terry lost control of her
northbound 2006 Mazda Miata, drove off the roadway and crashed into a residence at 804 E. Normandy Blvd.
"Deltona firefighters extricated the female driver from the wreck," Davidson said. "She had no pulse, but was revived by paramedics at the scene and airlifted by a Sheriff’s Office helicopter to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach.
The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash.
