DELAND -- The Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington, D.C., recently sent a summary of benefits to all veterans across the country, including the estimated 70,000-plus veterans who live in Volusia County, said Pat Kuehn, Volusia County spokeswoman.
According to Mike White, director of Veterans Services for Volusia County, the letter is for personal information purposes only, similar to the annual letter sent out from the Social Security Administration.
“We’ve had several inquiries from veterans about the letter,” White said. “The letter is informational only and does not affect benefits.”
Veterans who would like additional information about the letter and their benefits may call Volusia County’s Veterans Services Division at (386) 740-5102 in DeLand, (386) 254-4646 in Daytona Beach, (386) 775-5205 in Orange City, or (386) 423-3324 in New Smyrna Beach.
