DeBARY -- The free VOTRAN shuttles bringing passengers from Gemini Springs Park and the Deltona Plaza to the DeBary SunRail station end today, Volusia County officials announced in a press release.

On Monday, SunRail will begin collecting paid fares for all boarding passengers.

“This has been a very good opportunity for riders to learn about SunRail,” said Steve Sherrer, Votran’s general manager, in a prepared statement. “During the first week of the free Votran shuttle, we transported nearly 2,000 passengers to and from the DeBary station.”

VOTRAN will continue to operate SunRail routes 30, 31, 32 and 33 to and from the DeBary station. Service on these routes will be provided during peak commute times in the morning and in the evening, but the usual fares will be collected.
