Volusia Magazine TV Show: Groundwater Resources Manager Tom Carey discusses the state of the underground water supply as rainfall deficit continues

DELAND -- This is the driest time of the year in Volusia County and it’s very dry this year. The hotter it gets, the drier it gets. The wildfire danger is extremely high right now and the level of our underground water supply is low. This is the time to increase the focus on the need to conserve water, says Dave Byron, spokesman for Volusia County.

This week, Volusia Magazine, the county’s weekly public information television program, looks at the health of the county’s underground water supply and the countywide water regulations which could be adjusted slightly to comport with the St. Johns River Water Management ordinance.

The in-depth interview guest is Volusia County Groundwater Resources Manager Tom Carey. The 30-minute program also includes county news of the week, community interest features, and the latest actions of the Volusia County Council.

Volusia Magazine airs 5 p.. Sunday (April 12) and repeats 7:30 p.m. Monday (April 13) on WDSC-TV15. To watch Channel 15, turn your television to UHF channel 15 or consult your cable television listings. All cable television stations in Volusia County carry WDSC TV-15.
