DELAND -- Looking for a designated driver this New Year’s Eve? Hop on Votran’s New Year’s Eve trolley service, says Michelle Coats, a Volusia County spokeswoman.
For $3, a party-goer can travel safely all night along S.R. A1A on New Year’s Eve. The unlimited service runs from 7 p.m. Dec. 31 to just after 1 a.m. New Year’s Day. Trolleys, in addition to regular night service, will run every 20 minutes.
“We are happy Votran has partnered with the Hotel/Motel Association and the Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau to bring this safe and festive travel alternative to the public,” said Lois Bollenback, Votran general manager. “Partnerships are so important to the community.”
The trolleys will serve the Main Street Daytona Beach New Years celebration as well as many other destinations on the S.R. A1A strip.
The service is open to all members of the public including existing pass holders, bus riders and persons who pay standard cash fares.
The New Year’s Eve trolley route will run along S.R. A1A between Granada and Beachcomber avenues. Connections also can be made between regular night service routes 1, 3, 4, 10, 15 and 17.
