It seems every holiday season there’s the tragic story about a family losing everything they have to a house fire caused by faulty wiring, an unattended candle or a Christmas tree too close to the fireplace. During the holidays, people can become preoccupied and careless.
This week, Volusia Magazine, the county’s weekly public information television program, focuses on some common sense reminders to avoid
house fires during the holidays. The in-depth interview guest is Volusia County Deputy Fire Chief Kathy Weaver. The 30-minute program
also includes county news of the week, community interest features, and the latest actions of the Volusia County Council.
