Four people robbed in Cassadaga

CASSADAGA -- The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that targeted four people from out of town who said they were sightseeing in Cassadaga.

While taking pictures near a historic sign, a car suddenly pulled over and two men and one woman got out and
confronted the visitors. The two men pointed guns at the victims and demanded their possessions. They then got back in their car and sped away. No shot were fired and no one was injured.

Two men from Tampa, a woman from Longwood and another woman from Texas told deputies they were sightseeing in the Cassadaga area at approximately 1 a.m. today. They stopped at an historic sign near 355 Cassadaga Road.

"As they were taking pictures, a silver-passenger car passed by them several times," Sheriff's spokesman Brandon Haught said. "During one of the passes, the occupants paused to ask the sightseers where to purchase cigarettes and then drove away. But a few minutes later the car returned and pulled off the road. The car lights were turned off and then two men and a woman got out and approached the visitors."

The two men had guns and demanded the victims' camera and other belongings. After the robbers collected the camera and wallets, they got back in their car and drove away.

One suspect was a white male, between 5 feet 5 and 5 feet 10, weighing about 165 pounds and in his early 20s. He had short, buzzed hair and wore a white T-shirt, beige pants and a jacket around his waist. The
second suspect was a white male, 6 feet tall, skinny and in his early 20s. He wore a black beanie cap, a dark-colored hoodie sweatshirt and baggy pants. He also had a thin, dark mustache. The third suspect
was a white female, between 5 feet 3 and 5 feet and 5, with a husky build.

She wore a red, baseball-style T-shirt with black sleeves and writing on it. There was a fourth suspect, believed to be a female, who remained in the car during the robbery.

The suspect car was a silver, four-door passenger car, possibly a Mitsubishi Lancer. It had a rear spoiler, tinted window and a loud muffler.
