DAYTONA BEACH -- The trial lasted two days. The jury deliberated less than 30 minutes. A judge took even less time. The result: Life in prison today for 22-year-old Isaac J. Andrews for robbery with a firearm.

Judge J. David Walsh handed down the mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole for Andrews after Assistant State Attorney Dennis Craig argued that the convict was released from prison on Oct. 21, 2008, and therefore qualified as a prison releasee reoffender, said State Attorney spokesman Chris Kelly.

After Andrews' trial two-day trial ending Dec, 2, the jury deliberated for less than 30 minutes before finding him guilty of robbing the Port Orange Subway on Clyde Morris Boulevard with a firearm on April 13.

He did time in 2008 for possession of cocaine and an attempted robbery.
