NEW SMYRNA BEACH – “Off The Hook Raw Bar and Grill” has opened in New Smyrna Beach at 747 E. Third Avenue (A1A) in the beachside Publix shopping center. Operated by owners of the nearby New Smyrna Steakhouse, the family-friendly restaurant is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.
“Our food is definitely different from your typical seafood fare,” owner Mike Schaler said. “Everything has a twist, from the calamari we serve with house pickled peppers, onions and homemade remoulade sauce to theunique seasoning in our fish batter.”
Specialties include:
* Grilled Soft Shell Crab served with field greens, freshly sliced
mango, crisp bacon and lemon vinaigrette.
* Pan Seared Sea Scallops lightly dusted with chili powder and served with beurre blanc sauce.
* Prince Edward Island Mussels sautéed with white wine, bacon, bleu cheese and spinach
* Steamed and Roasted Cedar Creek Clams with red pepper soffrito and sherry.
Other selections include Seared Tuna Crostini, Grouper Reuben, Puffy Fish Tacos, Shrimp and Oyster Po Boys and a Whole Ipswich Clam Roll.
The restaurant also offers a full bar with 15 flat screen TVs, signature cocktails and Happy Hour daily from 4-7 p.m. and 10 p.m. to closing.
