An open letter to Congresswoman Kosmas on health care

You have again failed to listen to the voters of your district and chosen, in your vote Sunday night on the Health-care bill, to follow the lead of Speaker Pelosi and the Democratic Party. This health-care bill is a disaster and fiscally irresponsible for current and future generations of taxpayers. It will destroy the health care of my family and others that reside in your district and the nation as a whole.

This is all done in the name of the Democratic Party so they can further give away to the unions and special interest groups. While I am for change that will enhance the health-care coverage of those Americans that have no health care and can't afford to get any, those number in the range of about 15-18 million people. The 30-40 million that you, President Obama and the Speaker Pelosi keep trying to use my tax dollars to provide health care for are people who have broken our laws to sneak into this country and continue to break our taxing and residency laws by staying here.

Yet you and the rest of the misguided Democratic Party continue to be more concerned about them than me, a taxpayer and retiree, who pays for his health care, will now be facing cuts to his Medicare since you stole money from that fund to pay for this fiasco.

In addition, you continue to raid the military health-care system, culminating in President Obama having the audacity to seek legislation to have wounded soldier spay for their healthcare; again so you can fund this fiscally irresponsible legislation. I suggest to you that the Democratic Party is so far out of step with the American people it is scary.

So based upon your behavior on this bill, as well as your previous lack of concern for those major fiscal bills last year, none of which you read, I can assure you that I will do everything within my power to insure that you are not re-elected, as well as whatever I can to reduce the Democratic majority in Congress in the November elections and thus return some sanity and legislative morality to the hallowed house we call Congress.

This is not a Republican or Democratic position but rather one of common sense from those that you were elected to represent. We did not elect Pelosi or Obama, we elected you and you, Madam Congresswoman, have failed us beyond imagination.

Your recent press release continues with the Pelosi smoke and mirrors games with the numbers; common sense says if you expand coverage and services, somebody has to pay for it.

Well Madam Congresswoman, you have children and grand-children and you have just placed an financial albatross around their necks that no one will overcome.

Feel free to contact me should you want to dispute the above, but based upon your refusal to meet with all of your constituents in favor of restrictive access and secretive invitation only, closed meetings with a select few of your friends last summer, I am not holding my breath.

See you in November.
