DELAND -- The Volusia County Sheriff's Office has identified the parties in the murder-suicide Saturday night near DeLand as follows: The female victim was Sarah Hille, 42, who lived at 1775 Carr St. The male shooter and suicide victim was Richard Danao, 57, who lived at 3261 Grand Ave. He was Price's ex-boyfriend.
The Sheriff's Office was notified shortly after 8 p.m. that there had been a shooting at 1775 Carr St. The investigation so far has revealed that Danao shot and killed Hille and then shot and killed himself inside
the home. Both were found dead on scene when deputies arrived.
The reporting party was Barbara Jane Price, 70, who also lives at 1775 Carr St. She was the mother of the female victim. She goes by her middle name, Jane, Sheriff's spokesman Brandon Haught said.
Price was home at the time of the shooting and called 911. Hille's 5-month-old girl was also home during the incident. Price and the child were not injured.
The investigation is still active, Haught said.
