Memorial serevice planned Friday in England for 4-year-old girl killed by motorist on the beach

DAYTONA BEACH -- The Orlando Sentinel is reporting on its online edition that Ellie Bland, the 4-year-old British girl killed by a motorist March 20 on the beach will be buried Friday afrer a memorial service in her homeland.

The service is  planned for 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Highbury Road, Bulwell, England, followed by burial at Bulwell Cemetery. Ellie, of Nottingham, England, according to the Sentinel.

The toddler was walking with her grandfather, who was holding her hand when she was struck by a Lincoln Towncar driven by Barbara Worley, 66, of Elberton, Ga.

The driver intially stopped after hitting the girl, but then panicked and drove forward, running the child over and killing her instantly, according to initial reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, which is still investigating the accident.

The little girl's funeral arrangements are being handled by L.J. Crawley & Sons, Aspley and District Funeral Service.
