Dear Friends, This Good Friday and Easter Sunday, I join Christians throughout Florida and around the world in celebration of faith and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Each year at this time, we are reminded of both sacrifice and rebirth. The miracle that took place centuries ago continues to impact our daily lives. The God-given gifts of freedom and forgiveness are among the countless blessings we enjoy as Floridians.
As we rejoice in God's unconditional love, I encourage families and friends to remember their neighbors and those in need. Please also join me in praying for the safety and speedy return of our Armed Forces and Florida National Guardsmen and women as they defend our freedoms.
As Jewish families in Florida and around the world gather to observe Passover and celebrate freedom, liberty and hope, it is a time to reflect on God's gifts to every man and woman. This eight-day observance commemorates the children of Israel's liberation from slavery in Egypt and marks the beginning of their journey to the Promised Land.
Passover is an opportunity for Jewish families and friends to remember God's mercy, love and deliverance from the bonds of slavery. Over the next few days, let us also continue to remember and honor the sacrifices made by our brave servicemen and women protecting our freedoms abroad and pray for their safe return home.
To all Floridians, Carole and I wish you a safe and happy Easter and send best wishes and warm greetings to all Floridians of the Jewish faith who are observing the sacred Passover tradition.
