DAYTONA BEACH -- Swimming advisories have lifted at several sites in Daytona Beach where unusually high levels of bacteria last week have gone down: Florida Avenue Shores approach, International Speedway Boulevard and Silver Beach avenues.
The Volusia County Health Department found higher levels of enterococcus bacteria stemming from migrating birds here during the winter months.
Those with a weak immune system are encouraged to stay away from beach areas where swiming advisories are posted due to higher bacteria levels.
