
DAYTONA BEACH -- Police responded to a report of shots fired at 504 Arthur St. on Sunday and found a 34-year-old man was was found on the first floor of the residence with gunshot wounds to his stomach and reight leg that weren't considered life threatening.
Three children on the porch of the house pointed to the victim, Derrick Carn, inside when arriving police at 5:30 a.m. asked what happened.
"The victim advised that two B/M’s entered the residence demanding money and then shot him," police spokesman Jimmy Flynt said. "The males are described as one being heavy and the second one being tall and thin and one was wearing a black sweater no other descriptions are available. At this time I have no information on the three young children on the porch and no information as to if the suspects obtained any money."
The victim was transported to Halifax Medical Center.
Flynt said the aggravated battery investigation is ongoing.
