Doris Rose Bohn

Doris Rose Bohn, age 80, of Edgewater, died peacefully in her home on May 30, 2010.

Doris Rose Seliano was born on June 5, 1929 in Mt. Vernon, NY to parents Victor and Rose Seliano. She lived with her parents and younger brother, Eugene until 1949, when she married John William Bohn and moved to Westchester County, NY where they raised their children.

Professionally, she was the office manager for the landscape architects at Rosedale Nurseries in Hawthorne, NY. Besides raising a family and working full time, her many interests included crafts of all kinds, the guitar and organ, boating, reading, needlework, learning to use her computer and the many pets she had through the years.

In 1978, she retired and relocated to Edenton, NC, where she and her husband had a full and active retirement. They were very active int the VFW Post 6060 and the American Legion Post 40, where she was an auxiliary president for several years. They traveled extensively in their motor home and spent most winters in FL. In 1998 they relocated to their present home in Edgewater. She was predeceased by her husband John of 56 years in December 2005.

Mrs. Bohn is survived by her son, Gary T. Bohn of Ledyard CT, and her daughters Lynne A. Bohn of Edgewater FL and Lori A. Cutroni of Mongaup Valley, NY; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 4, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach. A time of Remembrance will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach.

Interment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
