10,000 hits and counting

Now in our 20th day since the launch of NSBNEWS.net, we have surpassed 10,000 hits. This is a testament to the thirst for news by the people of Southeast Volusia. And we are pleased to provide around the clock coverage seven days a week. This is a one-person operation so limitations are many, but the drive to succeed is limitless.
And the volunteer contributors we have really do care about the spirit of community journalism.

Many more are welcomed to join in our effort to provide comprehensive news coverage with emphasis on local news and how news everywhere else really hits home.

Up until today, I've had limited access posting stories because of the complex process involved in building the individual elements.

The building blocks are now in place to provide multi-media news content, including written stories, photos, videos, polls and other interactive features. There are more than 50 such elements on 12 pages.

Besides news, the other cornerstones for the success of this Web site are advertising revenue and marketing.

As you've seen in recent days, advertising slots have been created and merchants are welcomed to promote their wares. And residents and merchants alike are encouraged to sign up for the NSBNEWS.net newsletter.

Ultimately, the success of NSB News through NSBNEWS.net depends is through the ongoing support of the residents and merchants of New Smyrna Beach, Edgewater, Oak Hill, Samsula, Bethune Beach and Silver Sands.
