EDGEWATER -- Yes, in the past few years here in the United States we have had many school shootings most recent Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., where 20 kindergarten children and six adults were killed' We ask why.
Why is this violent act keep happening? Either the shooter is mentally ill or looking for revenge, or comes from a broken home, poor upbringing lacking love, and discipline and respect.
The rallying cry is to ban guns, that we must have stricter gun control. But let's face it. It is not the gun that kills, it's the person pulling the trigger that kills.
Training and teaching to live civilly begins at home. Parents must teach their children in their early years to respect, to obey, to love one another. In our schools, the teachers must continue the same along with education.
Prayer was taken out of our schools and sex education put in its place, giving out condoms and contraceptives while teaching safe sex. The results are more babies being born, abortions at an all time high (3,500 daily). We need to ban abortion, not prayer.
Some 6,000 of our teenagers are killed and 282,000 injured annually on our highways because those ages 15 to 17, are allowed to drive. We don't ban the automobile, but we want to ban guns?
Millions are killed by wars. The civil war in Syria alone in two years has claimed more than 60,000 lives. What causes wars? Power hungry people, hateful people, but we don't ban wars?
why not ban all violent video games?
So what is the solution to all of the violent shootings? I for one would start now, the quicker the better, by putting prayer back in school. To teach respect.
Actually it is simple: Teach The Ten Commandments. Have our children ever heard of them?
1.Thou Shalt Have No Gods Before Me. 2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image. 3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. 4. Remember to Keep Holy the Sabbath. 5. Honor Thy Father and Thy Mother. 6. Thou Shalt Not Kill. 7. Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery. 8. Thou Shalt Not Steal. 9. Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness. 10. Thou Shalt Not Covet.
let's consider faith, respect, and most of all, love.
