ORLANDO, Fla. - An Orlando man was re-appointed to the Florida Barbers' Board by Gov. Rick Scott, among 112 appointments Friday following the state Senate's failure to confirm them when it abruptly adjourned during the regular legislative session last month.

Among the governor's appointments is that of Lionel Rodriguez, 79, of Orlando, the owner and manager of Lionel's Hair Systems. He was re-appointed for a new term that ends on Oct. 31, 2018.

Also re-appointed to the Barbers' Board by the governor was Veronica Wold, 45, of Crawfordville, a government operations consultant with the Department of Corrections. Her term ends Oct. 31, 2017.

Rodriguez was re-appointed for a new term that ends on Oct. 31, 2018.

 Among other appointments or re-appointments by the governor:

• Board of Acupuncture:

-- Steve Moreau, 42, of Lake Mary, an acupuncturist with the Center of Wellness and a teacher at Florida College of Integrative Medicine, was re-appointed for a new term that ends Oct. 31, 2017.

-- Michelle Simmons Brown, 51, of Estero, an acupuncture physician with Alternative Natural Healthcare LLC., was re-appointed for a new term that ends Oct. 31, 2015.

• Board of Physical Therapy Practice:

-- Dr. Patrick Pabian, 36, of Orlando, an associate professor and program director at the University of Central Florida Department of Health Professions and a physical therapist with the Orlando Sports Medicine Group. His term ends Oct. 31, 2018.

• Board of Professional Geologists:

-- Louie Bush, 65, of Lakeland, southeast regional manager for Underground Imaging Technology, a Caterpillar affiliate. His new term ends Oct. 31, 2018.

-- Mervin Dale, 55, of Fort White, a staff scientist with Environmental Consulting and Technology, was re-appointed for a new term that ends Oct. 31, 2017.

-- Norman Meeks, 46, of Valrico, a geologist with CRA Inc., was re-appointed for a new term that also ends Oct. 31, 2017.

• Board of Respiratory Care:

-- Joseph Frey, 33, of Longwood, a program director for the Concorde Career Institute, was reappointed for a new term that ends Oct. 31, 2015.

• College of Central Florida District Board of Trustees:

-- William Edgar, 73, of Ocala, chairman of the Vistage Group of Ocala and Gainesville, was re-appointed for a term that ends May 31, 2018.

• Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission:

-- Richard Hanas, 66, of Oviedo, senior vice president of A. Duda & Sons Inc, was re-appointed for a new term that ends Aug. 1, 2017.

• Florida Commission on Community Service (Volunteer Florida):

-- Sherry Wheelock, 46, of Windermere, president and chief executive officer of Special Olympics Florida.

-- Vance Aloupis, 31, of Aventura, state director for the Children's Movement of Florida.

-- Maritza Rovira Forino, 64, of Tampa, business development manager for Foresight Construction Group Inc.

-- Sarah "Sam" Seevers, 57, of Destin, owner and editor of Life's a Beach Publications and the former mayor of Destin.

Their new terms end Sept. 14, 2017.

• Florida Commission on Human Relations:

-- James "Jeff" Graber, 39, of Longwood, president of Alexander Aviation Associates Inc.

-- Jay Pichard, 47, of Tallahassee, owner of Pichard Holdings LLC.

-- Sandra Turner, 63, of Winter Springs, is the ERPA president of Retirement Plan Specialists Inc.

Their new terms end on Sept. 30, 2017.

• Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board:

-- Joshua Harris, 32, of Orlando, director of the Dr. P. Phillips Institute for Research and Education in Real Estate for the University of Central Florida College of Business Administration, was re-appointed for a new term that ends Oct. 31, 2017.

• Florida School for the Deaf and Blind Board of Trustees:

-- Ralph Hadley, 72, of Altamonte Springs, an attorney with Swann, Hadley, Stump, Dietrich & Spears PA., was re-appointed for a term that ends Nov. 20, 2017.

-- Linda DiGonzalez, 60, of Tallahassee, director of volunteers for senior citizens for Westminster Oaks, was re-appointed for a term that ends Feb. 7, 2019.

• Florida Transportation Commission:

-- Kenneth "Ken" Wright, 66, of Winter Park, an attorney and partner with Shutts & Bowen LLP., was re-appointed for a term that ends Sept. 30, 2018.

• St. Johns River State College District Board of Trustees:

-- Denise Bramlitt, 57, of East Palatka, owner of Bramlitts Inc.

-- Colonel Joseph Duren, 58, of St. Augustine, director of public to public and public to private partnerships for the National Guard.

Both were re-appointed to new terms that end term May 31, 2018.

• St. Johns River Water Management District:

-- Charles "Chuck" Drake, 56, of Orlando, vice president and a hydrogeologist with Tetra Tech Inc., was re-appointed for a new term that ends March 1, 2019.

-- Ronald "Ron" Howse, 54, of Cocoa, a self-employed investor, licensed civil engineer, and land surveyor. He is reappointed for a term beginning June 12, 2015, and ending March 1, 2018.
