DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- GG Galloway finally has gotten an endorsement in his run for the 6th Congressional seat in the 2016 elections: the National Association of Realtors. Then again, Galloway of Ormond Beach, makes a living as a Realtor.
"I'm excited," Galloway told his supporters on his Facebook. Then again, his rival in the Republican primary, Adam Barringer, has received endorsements from 10 mayors in Volusia County as well as the ex-county chair.
And while the word "Politician" is listed under their names in their respective Facebook pages, Barringer truly fits that adjective, considering he was mayor of New Smyrna Beach for five years as well as head of the Volusia Council of Governments, a quasi-governmental entity of elected leaders.
Barringer has been endorsed by Mayors Bob Apgar of DeLand, Jim Hathaway of New Smyrna Beach, John Masiarczyk of Deltona, Tom Laputka of Orange City, Harry Jennings of Daytona Beach Shores, John Penny of Holly Hill, George Locke of South Daytona, Allen Green of Port Orange, Michael Ignasiak of Edgewater and Douglas Gibson of Oak Hill.
And as if the endorsement of 10 mayors isn't proof positive of Barringer's political might, he has the backing of the most prominent political figure in modern times in Volusia County -- that of former County Chair Frank Bruno.
