SANFORD, Fla. -- Nearing completion of his first month as Seminole County's top cop, Sheriff Dennis Lemma is not one to stand pat when it comes to recruitment in law enforcement.
Lemma has actually amassed more recruits than the days in the month of January and there are still three days to go, but he's set for now.
"We recently selected 34 recruits to take part in our deputy sheriff sponsorship program," Lemma told Headline Surfer®. "They will spend the next few months attending the law enforcement academy at Seminole State College where they will receive extensive training on our agency practices, policies, and procedures.
