ORLANDO, Fla. -- Cops in Sharonville, Ohio, arrested Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Adolphus Washington on Sunday on a charge of improperly carrying a concealed firearm, during which he came oh so close to being shot for allegedly showing a gun.
According to a police report, While officer Armstrong and Officer Morgan were clearing out a crowd on the lot of Splash Waterpark, suspect reached for and displayed a gun while sitting inside his vehicle, just feet away from officers. The suspect did not inform officers beforehand. Suspect was arrested, process at the PD and released.
Washington,24, is a native of Cincinnati, 20 minutes from the Sharonville waterpark where the incident occurred.
The Buffalo Bills released a statement after the arrest of their star player, that read: "We are aware of the incident regarding Adolphus Washington and have been in contact with him. Since it is a pending legal matter, we will have no further comment."
The Bills selected Washington in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft out of Ohio State. His collegiate career ended after he was arrested in December 2015 on a misdemeanor solicitation charge that was dropped. Washington was named first team All-American in 2015 and was part of Ohio State's National Championship team in 2014.
Washington posted 21 combined tackles and 2.5 sacks in his rookie season with the Bills.
