I don’t understand what is accomplished by all this raging against things some people don’t agree with or like.
History is just that, history, and it is there to remember and learn from -- not ignore. The South will not rise again because all citizens of these united states are equal. There is no reason to take sides any longer. Yes, I know some are not yet treated as equals by other,s but they have the same rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as everyone else no matter who doesn’t like it.
The kids now-a-days are not being taught enough about the real history of this country or others. I am 71 years old and in my school days we learned much more about our country and the world than kids today. It is sad, because if we erase all this history, we are doomed to forget and make the same mistakes in the future.
You can believe the Holocaust didn’t happen, but it did and the buildings are still there -- ovens and all. If that were here we’d have people defacing the property and trying to have those building reminders torn down. What gives anyone the right to do such things?

This whole thing baffles me; saddens me for those injured and killed during the riots whatever side they were on because it just shouldn’t be happening.
All these factions fighting each other are just proving the point that without our history being taken seriously, our country will deteriorate to a lawless frontier again. Happily by then, I’ll be long gone from this earth, but I feel sad for the babies who are about to grow up in this messed up world. It would be so nice if we could all just get along.
