NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. -- Like New Smyrna Beach Mayor Jim Hathaway, longtime City Commissioner Judy Reiker is not seeking another term to her zone 1 seat.
Reiker was elected to represent Zone 1, Northeastern New Smyrna Beach on the City Commission in November 2009. She currently represents the City Commission as a member of the New Smyrna Beach Police Pension Board.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, after graduating from high school, Judy moved to Harrisburg, PA and began her career in title insurance. A graduate of Penn State University, majoring in Accounting, Reiker earned an MBA from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA in 1992. Judy and husband Guy Mariande settled in New Smyrna Beach in 2001 where she established a local Fidelity National Title Office in 2002.
Reiker is very active in the community. Prior to her election to the Commission, she served as a member of the Golf Advisory Board. She also holds the following positions: Past president and moard Member of the New Smyrna BeachRotaryy Club; religious education coordinator of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church; member and past board member of the Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce; member of the New Smyrna Beach Board of Realtors.
