EDGEWATER, Fla. -- Kimberley Klein-Yaney is among three women seeking the District 2 City Council seat vacated by incumbent Amy Vogt earlier this month.

Getting directly involved in municipal politics was the furthest thing from Klein-Yaney's mind until she saw the jettisoning of then-City Manager Tracey Barlow by Voght and Council members Gary Conroy and Megan O'Keefe last a special meeting last fall where his employment was not on the agenda.

"I never thought I would run for a political position until I watched the Oct. 26 Special City Council Meeting," she told Headline Surfer. "I was appalled and have outwardly spoken out and showed up. I'm ready, willing and able to step-up and represent our community."

IKlein-Yaney added she has "a record of accomplishment," which she pledged to "soon share, so residents can make an informed decision," thanking them for their interest in her and hoping to earn their votes in a Feb. 19 primary election again fellow candidates Gigi Bennington, a former council member, as well as photographer/business owner Jennifer Parker.
