**UPDATE**Pedestrian is Killed on North Dixie Freeway and the Involved Vehicle Leaves the Scene

Date/Time/Location of Incident: 7/12/19 / around 0100 hours / 3300-Blk of North Dixie Freeway New Smyrna Beach, FL Deceased Male: Timothy Michael Calabrese 43 y.o. w/m from Port Charlotte, FL
Actual Vehicle Information: 1999 - Chevrolet Silverado grey in color, bearing Florida Tag Number HSEK51.
Synopsis of Incident: At around 1:10am this morning, New Smyrna Beach Police received a call about a deceased male lying in the median in the 3300-Blk of North Dixie Freeway. A passerby observed the body and pulled over to give assistance. Once police got on scene it was determined that the deceased male had been struck by a car due to vehicle fragments that were still in the roadway. New Smyrna Beach Investigators believe the vehicle involved was a 1999-2002 Chevy Silverado or Tahoe possibly dark blue in color (see attached pictures for reference).
New Smyrna Beach Police have not found any witnesses to this incident as of yet and need help in locating the driver of the involved vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call Sergeant Kirk at 386-424-2275 or Crime Stoppers. All callers to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous. Call Crime Stoppers tip line, toll free, at (888) 277-TIPS (8477). Tipsters may be eligible for a reward up to $1000 for information leading to an indictment.
**UPDATE**
Jeffrey A. Krull (DOB: 06/20/1965) was arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving Death. Krull was driving a Chevrolet Silverado and failed to return to the scene of the crash after he struck and killed 43 y.o. Timothy Calabrese.
