DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- There will be plenty of sunshine along the world's Most Famous Beach in Daytona and across Central Florida with rain likely this weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne.

Here is the extended forecast for greater Daytona Beach from the weather service:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 84. Light and variable wind becoming east northeast at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Tonight: partly cloudy, with a low around 68. East-southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 83. East-southeast wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. For Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. Southeast wind around 10 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. East-southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. For Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low of around 67. Southeast wind around 10 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. East-southeast wind around 10 mph.
