NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. -- The New Smyrna Beach Police Department issued 1,152 Spring Break-related citations and made 49 arrests.
Of that total, 1,007 were written beachside, where most Spring Break activity occurred - primarily on Flagler Avenue and the beach itself.
There were 40 adult arrests, nine juvenile arrests, three complaint affidavits, and six notices to appear.
"These stats are from NSBPD only," Ava Hanner, New Smyrna Beach Police PIO emphasized in an email to Headline Surfer, which had requested crime stats.
Hanner continued: "There were more arrests, citations, etc. made by mutual aid agencies in New Smyrna Beach during Spring Break. As we do not have access to their records management systems, we are unable to provide statistics from other agencies."

The VCSO announced earlier this week that it "wrapped up Spring Break 2025" with the following stats: 191 arrests (173 misdemeanors and 18 felonies), 26 of which were juveniles.

NSBPD video / Chris Kirk, interim chief of police for the New Smyrna Beach Police Department, was proactive from the onset of Spring Break, making clear that lawbreakers would be subject to arrest in what he stated was a zero-tolerance policy towards lawless behavior of any kind.
