A stretch of roadway along Orchard Street in Ormond Beach was closed for several hours Sunday -- between Division Avenue and Hammock Lane. Cherrywood Drive was also inaccessible to thruway traffic as fire department crews responded to the scene, due to a fire hydrant damaged in the car crash, causing rushing water from the hydrant water to fill the roadway surface and resulting in emergency repairs to be made.
Anyone with information or who witnessed the fatal automobile crash is urged to contact Ormond Beach police officer Jack Lyster at Jack.Lyster@ormondbeach.org or (by calling 386 - 229-7173.
