DELTONA -- Human remains, including a skull, were found in a wooded area of Deltona on Nov. 6, by two teenagers.
The teens stumbled across the remains in some woods east of Alex Lane. While the remains will require further analysis,
investigators say they appear to be that of an adult.
"The Sheriff's Office was contacted about the find at 11:37 a.m. and so far has collected a skull and miscellaneous other human bones that were
found approximately 150 yards into the woods," Volusia County Sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson said. "Sheriff's investigators are still processing the scene, gathering up the remaining bones and searching for clothing, personal items or anything else that might provide clues to the identity of the victim and the cause of death."
The remains were turned over to the Volusia County Medical Examiner's Office to try and determine identity and cause of death.
