NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Residents of Bouchelle Island have adopted Cudas Unhooked, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping at-risk students at New Smyrna Beach High School.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Strike up the band. The 55-member Cudas marching band looked and sounded real sharp Friday night, especially at halftime of the football game, with 12 color guards led by senior drum major Kaitlin Hearn.

Bryan Weaver is valedictorian of the 2010 Class of New Smyrna Beach High School. In his speech to his fellow graduates, Weaver urged them to "please keep in mind all of the people who helped you along the way."

He also encouraged his classmates to try to make a difference in someone's life, explaining, "in the same way those people made a difference in yours."
