SOUTH DAYTONA, Fla. -- Demonstrating once again that every vote counts, a manual recount Friday showed William "Bill" Hall the winner of the primary for mayor of South Daytona over incumbent George Locke, III.
SOUTH DAYTONA, Fla. -- This small city just south of Daytona Beach has an immediate opening for the position of police officer with a starting salary of $35,117.
The recount will take place at the Department of Elections, Historic Courthouse, 125 W. New York Avenue in Deland.
The preliminary results indicate that of the 2,599 total votes cast; William "Bill" Hall received 1,302 votes or 50.10 percent and George F. Locke III received 1,297 votes or 49.90 percent.

Hinton cracked, "The world was supposed to end today, but I guess the Mayans got their dates wrong.
