We had a record 5,497 unique visitors to our news website the day after Christmas, most likely the result of our Christmas Day story filed later that day headlined: NSB small business owner Dean Carr endures with brain tumor; daughters: 'Our father being alive is our Christmas'
Our previous one-day record was an even 5,000 the day before the Nov. 2 general elections when we posted our endorsements for all of the races. We would have had a lot more, but we kept crashing. As a result we expanded our bandwidth.
Conservatives like myself are all hoping that the newly-elected senators and congressmen will be successful in getting the country moving again. The first step is a realistic look at where the country stands politically so that the program can be approached in a realistic manner. The people can’t be suddenly moved in a direction they are not prepared to go in even when it is the right direction.
Looking at the political landscape, the electorate is divided in three groups.
It has truly been a wacko year. I don’t know where to begin.
Sera and I wish all of you out there a happy new year as the clock winds down on 2010 and opens the gates to a more promising 2011. DELTONA -- A 53-year-old Deltona motorist was killed after losing control of his 1994 Ford pick-up truck and striking a pole in nearby Seminole County just after midnight of New Year's Day, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

A 36-year-old man later identified by patrons as Keith Roberts, 36, of South Daytona, was shot to death in his pick-up truck after he left the bar with Shannon Pursley and the woman's estranged husband opened fire on the vehicle, according to police, who did not release the driver's name..
