Volusia County Beach Safety: Winter Springs man bitten on hand in surf at Cape Canaveral National Seashore

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla.-- A 54 year old Winter Springs man was releasing a fish he had caught while surf fishing down in Canaveral National Seashore when he was bitten on his right hand by a 4-5 foot shark, a Volusia County beach safety official said.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. -- A 23-year-old Orlando man was standing in chest-deep water in New Smyrna when he was bitten on the foot by a shark, a beach safety official said.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla, - Here is the latest on Tropical Storm Isaias from the National Weather Service for greater Daytona Beach as of 5 am: TS Isaias is currently centered about 60 miles east of the Volusia County coast as it continues to move northward offshore towards the Florida-Georgia line about sunrise.
